Yep. Reset every time. The computer takes a few drive cycles to adjust completely. That is more than one test drive, and more than one 'key on key off'. I adjust mine, then drive it for a day or two, then re-adjust. Also any time I tighten a hose clamp or vacuum line I make sure to disconnect the battery for about 10 to 15 minutes.

The computer takes at least 3 drive cycles to remember anything, and/or learn anything. Give it some time.

i reset for 10-15 minutes and everything so i should give it a day or two thats cool but it just doesnt seem to be spooling as fast is something wrong you think like in 3rd to 4th gear almost by time it reaches full boost it is at 4500rpms then backs off very soon what do you think?

If you want more boost readjust the WGA back up to where you had it before. But understand that your running Stage 1, with no fuel modifications. You need more fuel to run more boost. After 19psi, the stock turbo and the stock intercooler dont do their job the way they're supposed to. Therefore, spiking past that point is virtually useless, and can be potentially harmful to your engine.

The PCM knows whats best. Without an actual boost controller, then the wastegate is doing all the action for you. Sure with slightly lower boost (around 16/17 spike) thats an easy job for a WGA to do, but there comes a time where it has to have something T'd in that makes those adjustments for you. Try getting an MBC just for now, since EBC's are extremely expensive. See if that helps.

Drive it. Then drive it some more. When you go to adjust again, if the boost spikes and then drops back down you have too much preload on the waste gate. Back if off (a ½ turn at a time) until you see the boost rise to its peak, and hold it there. On the other hand if you are not spiking at all, and only making low boost levels, more preload is the way to go. I found my car likes 4.5mm preload. Uhh, thats with the S2 waste gate.

You will need to back it off until your at a normal boost level. Yes you may boost a little bit later, but you won't have much more lag at all. These cars boost very quickly once everything is tuned right. After backing mine off (giving it less preload) I did feel the car spool up a tad slower, but the gain on the top end was worth it. I finally have 17 psi in 3rd and 4th gear from 3500 rpm to red line. I found that when I had too much preload on the waste gate I could boost 17psi in 4th only. In 3rd it would spike and then drop, all I had to do was back off the preload a ½ turn at a time. Then after resetting the ECU and after a day or two of driving, I would try again. Big, I mean BIG smiles when I finally got it right!
