Yeah, the difference in the dyno's is interesting, but like I said, all that matters is who is first to the finish line (or the next red light). Races are won on a combination of factors, beginning with the type, the place, the weather, the equipment, the driver, and dozens of other factors to put into the equation....Dyno numbers will give you bragging rights, but not much more than a rough idea of how you stack up....[&:]

There will always be variables. Some engines come from the factory unusually powerful and some weak. The only way to keep them the same or consistent is to have them built by hand and dynoed for accuracy, like the Viper engines. Clutch wear is also a factor with a manual trans on the wheel dyno.

Gump, do not use anyone elses numbers to compare your car for the benfits of mods. In a perfect world, it should be same day, same dyno.

Stock pulls, install, modded pulls. Even one days difference could make a difference in the readings. So if you plan on dynoing after mods, plan on dynoing before, at the same place. And try to avoid doing base pulls in Dec, ambient 55 degrees and modded pulls in Aug, ambient 85 degrees.

Also, optimum testing means one change at a time. Pull stock, add exhaust, pull modded, add intake, pull again. If you go straight from stock to both intake and exhaust, you have no idea how much power each added. Of course, a 15whp exhaust + a 8whp intake does not = 23whp.

I told you back in the beginning the average numbers. The link to the SRTfoums has tons of posts from folks that have done it, along with dyno charts, locations, etc. The reason for the lectures is that for you to say, "One SRT got 230whp on the dyno, and after I put on my intake, I dynoed 232whp, so I only gained 2whp" would be wrong. There can be variations that mean two cars, same dyo, same day, could have up to a 10whp difference. Bone stock. We are not giving you crap, just making sure you understand why you cannot use others peoples numbers to base your data on.

and you can't just "take these variables into consideration" Even Dodge couldn't do that, with all their resources.

04 average 225-230, maybe 235 on the high end.

I filled up tonight and did the math, I got 21.9 MPG on Sunoco Ultra 94. It was about a 50/50 split between freeway and in town with a little fun in between.
