I grew up on Camp Pendleton..... Del Mar, the beach there, is awesome. Except at 5-6 am when all the Amtraks (amphibious tank) drive along the road then into the water. They are loud as hell! I'm sure you will love it! The beach never gets crowded because it is on the base and you need military ID or relation to someone on the base to get in. Saw my first concert there: Huey Lewis & the News lol
