Default 2.0L Cams Vs Stock Cams

Ive noticed couple of people have on the 2.0L cams from the neon. Im wonodering what are the good and bad from adding these cams. I have Crane Cams 0016, just wondering if they will do me any good or better then the cams i have now. ANYONE?

No they definitely aren't better than the 16s. Its just a cheap way to do things. You're far better off doing things right and getting the crane 16 or 18s, or better yet Crowers.

Slighty better, but your far better off putting that $50-120 towards the Crane 12s (if you dont want to buy gears), or the Crane 16s, Crane 18s, Crower Stage 3s. I believe you need to buy gears to run the 2.0L DOHC cams anyhow. Im not 100% on that one. But your so much better with an upgraded cam its not even funny. Frees up power across the entire band that you didnt know you had.

Unless Crower ever fixed their problem, I'd stay away from them.

Unless you're planning on going with a stand alone, I wouldn't go any bigger than the 16's you already have... well maybe an 18, but just on the intake side.

After the 18/16 combo you're really starting to get into the diminishing returns with a turbo engine.

Edit: as for the gears, the difference between the 2.4 and 2.0 stock gears is the direction in which you mount them. The 2.4 gear is just the 2.0 gear flipped over. There is no real difference in the cams between the SRT-4 cams and the 2.0L DOHC cams.

I'm running AEM's 2.0L cam gears (which will NOT work on a 2.4, normally) and I had the cams modified (a spacer was added) to work with the 2.0L gears.
