Ok Guys,
You all know the most about your SRT-4's. No way I could deny that. So be that as it is I could use your help. I've been in an argument with someone of late and I was hopping you could clear something up or me. How fast does a stock SRT-4 go? I've read 153. And is the SRT-4 supposed to backfire after being revved? I realize I really don’t know the most about cars especially this one, But you guys do. Think you could help me out? Thanks

 

top speed is around 168 or so, you'll hear conflicting reports. mopar claims it's limited to 15x but in reality the stage ecu remove the limit and the car gears out in the high 160's low 170's.

ye the car backfires when reved, it's unburnt fuel. these cars run rich.

 

But a stock car right off the dealer floor should hit low 150's. Like 151 or 152. Ok, if it was a very new car and under the magic *5000 mile mark, maybe only 149 mph.

Like PSI Chick said, once you add more power you can top out 5th gear way up there.

 

Also, just FYI I hit 163 in my car, '05 with nothing added to it besides a catch can. Didn't blow up, but didn't like me for a few days.

i hit 160 strait up in my stock '05 and had me and 3 people in the car.

 

I just wont go that fast.....scares me. But I know it can be done.

 

I've got a video taken from inside a SRT-4 showing them pegging the speedo at 160......don't know if it was level ground or what...
