Default bottom end power questions

Just 2 questions bought the bottom end of the srt-4. One is has anyone heard of how much the bottom end can hold Hp wise. And also ive heard rumors that the bottom end has JE psitons and rings, and eagle connecting rods stock, dont know how that got started but just wondering if that may be true or not

Default RE: bottom end power questions

Don't push it past 450whp. 400whp is a safer limit. I took mine to ~490whp and ended up destroying it.

It does NOT have JE pistons and eagle rods. The rods are forged, but the pistons are cast.

If you want to push it to 450-600whp then Rods and pistons are a must, beyond 600 there's some other things you need to do. Also don't run an aftermarket pulley, run the stock pulley. Aftermarket pulley's tend to cause the oil-pump to fail.

If you really want to push the engine to its limits, give Darrell *** Racing a call.
