pondering the wandering
Ever since I put my stage one on, along with my needswing downpipe, my car feels quite a bit faster. It feels, dare I say it, unseasonably fast with the cutout open. Sooooo,,,what's the problem?
When I slam on the accelerator, the car wants to jump all over the freaking place. Now,,,I am losing some traction in second gear, so that might be the reson for it, but it seems worse than that. I took it by a friend of mine's house today because he knows a lot about cars and he drove it and said that it should get some kind of a stabilizer or something for the front end because of the torque steer. With a LSD, do you really get torque steer. <-------- there is just someting incredibly sexy about the word torque.
Anyhow, you really feel like you have to fight the car now when giving it gas. I have spacers on my wheels, and I wonder if it could be related to that.

Nope its not related to the spacers. The more power you have, the more torque steer your gonna get and theres really nothing that can be done about it.
Losing traction, hrmm well wheel hop = BAD, VERY bad.
Wheel hop can lead to:
- Broken Axle bearings on the trans
- Busted motor mounts
- Cracked oil pans
At the very least....
So grab some motor mount inserts to help with that. Torque steer is normal, something you have to get used to and be very careful with. Hard accel and corners dont mix with torque steer.
Have fun with the new beast
