i am looking into buying the mopar cat delete pipe. does anyone know if this mod will throw a code with the computer? is this mod 50 state legal without a cat? would mopar put a part out there that isnt legal? let me know thanks for the feedback.

 

Not having a cat is illegal in all 50 states. However if you live in a state where emissions testing is done with an OBDII scanner and you have a Mopar S1/S2/S3 kit on your car, you will pass due to the fact that the staged kits do not utilize the readings of the downstream 02 sensor which on a stock car is located in the cat.

yeah im pretty sure its not exactly street legal if you look in the mopars catolag at the bottom it saays that it is for track use only
i have one on my car though and i drive it every day

 

Same here, to the uneducated eye the silencer can they have in place of the CAt could be mistaken for a CAT, well maybe not. It does sound better than a gutted cat.
