HEY GUMP I THREW A CODE LASTNIGHT WHEN I FINISHED MY WASTEGATE PROJECT HOW DO I GET RIDD OF IT BECAUSE THE DUMB CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON?

 

STG1 .you will get that all the time now unless you turn it down or get stg1.Dont turn it up to high untill you get fuel mods or you will run lean and get all kinds of codes!

 

don't turn it up past 16 PSI.. you shouldn't be throwing codes at 16.. if you threw an over boost code it will go away by its self.. if not goto an auto zone or some where with free OBD II diagnostic and have them clear the codes.. or if you have an OBD II diagnostic tool use it and just select clear diagnostic codes

 

THANKS FOR YOUR HELP I'LL DO THAT THEN SO SHOULD I GIVE IT SOME TIME TO SEE IF IT GOES AWAY ON ITS OWN. OR SHOULD I JUST GO AND GET IT DONE?

 

the code that your are throwing is an overboost code. you need to disconnect the red line going to your upper hard pipe and cap that off. what that line does os tell the ecu how much boost is being pushed. with that line capped off then the ecu does'nt know, and in return no codes are thrown. My brother and I have been running it that way since we started modding our cars and all is good.

 

Ummm that is really not that true. I have a 05 and the 05 are a little weird when it comes to that stuff.I was told that from the dealer and from alot of my friends that it will still get a code even if you dont go past 16psi.I have my redline out and i hold 14psi and peak at 17psi and i have a p1188 code.The only way to get rid of it for 05s is to get stg1.Now i dont know what year he haves.But mine is installed right and i have ask alot of guys from srtforums because im also on there to,and they said the samething.Now this is what i was told and i belive it because my car does it.Im sure your right also because my friend has a 04 and he didnt get anycodes like mine and he is holding more to redline.

 

rare04-- I personally wouldnt do that with stock fuel

valo2170--- 05's do have there special goofs but if 16psi is max your stock comp wants to see and you spike 17psi then your going to throw a over boost code... as with 03's and 04's

streetdemon-- its your car and you can do as you please and take any of our advise but if i were you id keep messing with your wastegate till the car feels strong but doesnt throw a code.
