Default mbc installation ?

i have an old hallman boost controller and i was wondering if i can install it on my neon srt4. what psi does the car run now and how much can the psi max but yet be soft on the engine. dont want to break it.

Stock they run 14-15 psi boost.

so i shouldnt have to add anymore psi correct. or can i without stressing the motor at all.

doesnt the boost gauge read around 15 1/2 to 16 psi when you really push it?

yes it does read about 16 psi already but can i push it up to 20 or is that to high.

Well i can tell you that my friend pushes 18-19 psi on his SRT on his stock engine. But, he has some mods to it. to be safe start at 17 then see and hear how she feels (if you have an SRT). Im pretty sure you'll be safe at 18 psi w/o starving for fuel on a stock fuel pump

If done properly you can easily get more boost safely. You cannot push it too much without letting the PCM see it, or you will run into a lean condition. Stage 2 is perfect for this, it runs it on the rich side so you can pump up the boost even more while keeping it safe. With toys would be best for it's added features as well as power.[sm=smiley2.gif]

That cool info, RR. as you know i just install Stage 2. my MBC is soon to arrive. how much is on the safe side? i was lookin at 19-20 psi...

That should be good. The Stage 2 bumps up the boost to around 17 psi from what I've read, so 20 psi should be fine.

Hey, RR. i got a little over 18psi @ 4500-4700 rpms with wheel chirp/hop in 2nd & 3rd[&:].
