My car is squeeking
Alright, for the past week or so my car has been making this odd squeeking sound. The sound is coming from the front on the right. Not sure if it is my brakes or not, it doesn't make any noise whatsoever when I press the brakes, only when I am moving, it makes a wierd squeeking sound, just squeek squeek then sometimes even distorts and squeeks some more, I might have to change my brake pads, just wanted your input. Its not a metal against metal scraping sound, it's just a light squeek.
Theres this product called anti-squeal thats put behind brake pads to prevent that kind of noise. I have a constant brake squeak because of the type of pads I use, but thats only under pressure. Make sure the pads aren't worn too much (i.e. unevenly) and make sure that they are sitting in the caliper properly.
Doesn't squeek over bumps or turns or anything like that, just when I am going straight, sometimes in turns, It squeeks but its real faint its not loud, it squeeks and keeps doing it for a bit, then stops.... then starts all over again, its odd, I was thinking that my brake pads are uneven. When I press my brakes, they make no noise whatsoever.
my car just started squeaking too. it only squeaks when i am at idle. i know it is not the brakes it is just while the car sits there. if i bring the rpms up over 1000 the squeak goes away. it sounds like metal rubbing against metal. anyone have any ideas on what it could be and how to fix it?
My car squeeks while its moving, I wish I could record it, not sure if I will catch the sound, it really isn't that loud.
