Default No 7/70 powertrain warranty for 2005?

There is another unconfirmed rumor that has been floating around that the 2005 models will only have the 3/36 bumper to bumper warranty and NOT the 7/70 powertrain warranty.

Sounds like a "ricer implated rumor" to me, just like the brake recall.....

When I bought my SRT-4 the dealer told me that they would soon be taking away the 7/70 and classify it as a racing type of car or whatever you wanna call it and give a 3/36. But who knows, I walk in there an they tell me the SXT neon is about the same thing as the SRT-4, and I'm like hell no it isn't (my dealer doesn't sell SRT's). Whos knows what it is gonna be.

Not confirmed yet, but it is looking more like truth than fiction at this point. Lotta high PSI whoopsies has gotten DCXs attention.

I smell a class-action suit if they try to change the warranty on cars already sold.......

It doesn't involve cars already sold, Dusty. I believe it's starting with the 2005 models.

Cool, I can live with that. But it won't do anything to enhance sales of the '05s.....
With such low build numbers on SRT-4s, you'd think they could absorb some warranty work, but then again, after recalling thousands and thousands of PT Cruisers.....[:'(]

You have answered your own question in what you wrote. What you wrote is half accurate for all of the SRT-4's as well as all Mopars sold for the past couple years. One warranty type doesn't effect the others. They have a 7yr./70,000mile powertrain warranty and the bumper to bumper warranty is 3yr./36,000miles. These are two seperate warranties and have differing terms and coverage. I'm sure that they're not doing away with their 7/70K powertrain warranty, that is one of their best selling points right now.
