Default Just installed AEM Short Ram - BIG GRIN

I have been reading posts on the site since April. Now that I have a 2004 SRT-4 and have put 1860 miles on it I figured I might as well post my progress and findings.

WOW WOW WOW and WOW!!!!!

The AEM Shorty is awesome - the sound alone is worth it. - It runs cooler than stock and the engine runs smoother now at idle. Plus a 10 HP gain is nothing to sneeze at. My times dropped instantly by a couple of tenths. I think it's the responsiveness I am getting out of the shorter and faster air flow into the engine.

The car is new and hasn't had an oil change yet so The numbers are only going to get better as I feel more comfortable hammering on it.

anyway here are a few of my best runs so far (btw I am shifting south of the redline since it is new):

1/4 In 13.78 @ 103.3mph 60 foot in 2.10
1/4 in 14.15 @99.1 60 foot in 2.15
1/4 in 14.25 @98.3 60 foot in 2.18
60 foot in 2.20
0-60 in 4.73
0-60 in 4.85 0 to 100 in 12.78
0-60 in 5.1
0-60 in 5.33
0-60 in 5.4
0-60 in 5.42
0-60 in 5.45

the high 4's in the sixty have got to be a fluke - only happened twice but the car hooked up like I couldn't believe on those runs.

suprisingly, the best times are with the 39psi front tire setting.

The car is silver. Mods so far include:
-Modern performance shift ****(great quality aluminum **** with 9! fixing bolts)
-piaa 9007's(very bright(wish they had plasma gtx's in 9007))
-silverstar fogs and parking lamps(look great)
-mopar blow off valve conversion(sounds mean)
-Aem short ram intake(flutter and whistle sound intimidating, turboed 240's eat your heart out)(runs cooler than stock)
-moved brake wire out of way of clutch(don't want it cut)
-tire pressure fine tuned to 39 frt. and 33 rear(feels great!)(stock 32/32 is a joke)
-vent from fender to short ram
-blue interior lights

many more to come - ordered - mopar tails, suspension bushings, motor mount inserts, stage 1 computer, clear brake lens cover, ...

most of all I am having more fun with this car than i did with my porsche, celica gts, or worked civic and I can't believe it!!!!

This from a guy who said he'd never buy american!!!!

As hard as you're driving it already, I'd be looking at an oil change.....

Congrats on the SRT-4!!!![sm=smiley20.gif][sm=smiley16.gif]

You're probably aware of it, but Mobil 1 is the recommended oil; however, I've used Amsoil as well...

Post a pix of your ride!!!

Ha Ha.

My thoughts precisely!

I also am sure that the computer is programmed with car guys like us in mind so it won't go full boost until the first oil change anyway. They're crazy if they think buyers of this car can resist the temtation to press the go pedal hard. It screams for it!

Welcome to the wonderful world of the SRT-4. If you check out your owners manual, they even tell you to make full throttle runs in the higher gears after so many miles to help promote a good break-in.[sm=smiley2.gif]
