K&n CAI questions (problems??)
Two weeks ago bought and installed the K&n Typhoon CAI, love it!! Love the way it looks sounds, and drives. I do also have the ,mopar blowoff convertion plate. Two quesitons/problems though.
1. When im blow off it sounds like its echoing??? Almost like the intake is burping, rathin the the spilt second pshhh sound, it is rather quite long and echoing sound. Anyone have any ideas what this could be??
2. 2 days ago i decided to run the intake as the SRI to see any changes. Took the CAI off and took it for a little test run and i noticed in first gear i was only peaking at 10psi rather than the normal 15 peak and 11-12 holding. SO i didnt like the results and put the CAI back on. Took it for another test run. Same results as before. In frist gear i am peaking between 8-10psi and holding. Before in first gear i was peaking at around 15 and hold between 11-12psi. ANy insight will be much appreaciated.
I did some looking around and didnt really find any problems like these two on here, so any help, i am new to this forum and car modding. Thanks again!!!

Are you Sure you were getting Higher PSI than 10 in First gear?
As far as I know and have herd that is the Norm for first gear............ (computer/wastegate controlled)

If you have the K&N Typhoon intake (2.5" CAI model) then I would be SERIOUSLY consider keeping a close eye on the grommet that holds your IAT sensor. These intake's are infamous for swallowing that grommet and damaging the turbo fins. Don't mean to scare you but I would really keep an eye on it.

Well back on topic,there is a possibility that the computer was learning the new intake system thats why it was spiking a lil higher.(POSSIBILITY)

2. Depending on the weather it may not get to it's full potential boost. In certain temperature/humidity you will only get so much boost 10-12 psi, usually in high humidity and heat, while other times, cooler and dry, it will get 15 psi boost. You will notice this more as time goes by when it will be high and low.
Thanks 71roadrunner, you pin pointed the noise, that is exactly what it sounds like, like a horse laugh and a flutter!! Now anyway to control that or get rid of it. It is kinda a neusense and something id rather not hear. Thanks again for pin pointing my problem 71roadrunner!!!
