some n00b questions!
hey guys, i currently have a 20th anniversary GTI, but im pretty sure within the next two weeks, ill be picking up a srt-4. just a few noob questions..
how are they on gas? i know my car now is only allowed premium gas, but the milage is pretty good.
engine mods- i got a lot done to my car now, but other then a cai, bov, exhaust; what are must do's to a srt-4 to get some more hp
and is it true that all mopar parts are under warranty? i see above that there is a topic on this, its just i cant find my contacts so i cant read it all.
thanks in advance!!

Its hard to say what the gas mpg is. With everyone wanting to romp on these cars it makes for a hard MPG. You can figure around 18-22 MPG. Yes you will need to run premium gas as well (turbo). Some of the first to do's are Stage 1, wastegate, Boost controller, CAI and if you can a full exhaust. Those should get you going in the right direction. Mopar parts under warranty yes and no, but I would check with the dealer first as they are all different. I work for a dealer (Porsche) and I can attest to that.

does anyone also have pics of under the hood? i wanna see what all of this will look like on a srt-4
Be careful on the warranty. Mopar Performance parts (like the Stage 1 ECM) are NOT covered by any warranty and according to DC, any failure they cause will void the warranty on the OEM part that was damaged. In other words, if the dealer feels your mod(s) caused the problem with the car, they don't have to honor the warranty. In reality, some dealers will, some won't. It helps to be a regular customer at your dealer and talk to the service manager.

Since I've got stg2 w/toys, I've clocked 30mpg on setting 0 and about 24-25 on 3, but as far as stock figure about 24-27 roughly. as far as quick power ups, grab you a wastegate actuator and stg 1, exhaust and CAI help also.
