I just returned from a display of the cars entered in the Targa Newfoundland rally. Chrysler has entered a SRT-8 Cherokee and a Dodge Calibre. The calibre had body trim like the calibre srt-4 pictures I have seen. They were doing some work under the hood, so I took a look. After I noticed a turbo in there, I asked if it was the new SRT-4. At first hey said no. They were pretty tight lipped, but finally admitted that it was a SRT-4 prototype. It had no interior trim, just two seats and a roll cage. They said it's curb weight was under 2800 pounds. It had the new world engine with turbo. Here's a link to their race information.

I guess I get to see the new srt-4 in action this week. I'm taking Thursday and Friday off work to watch the race stages that take place near my home town.

I'll get some pics later in the week when they are racing. It's 2760 pounds and has 340 horsepower. I will try to attach the spec sheet they gave me. I screwed up the last time I tried.

Hey Red,
cool deal. I was got to drive a mule car out in the desert this past summer for the DC testing (through my company)... I was kind of disappointed with the Caliber... granted, it was a mule car, so it had some issues... the torque steer was horribly bad and the traction control didn't help much! not too mention all the codes it through for the boost problem...
had some neat features (not sure what will be on the released model, so... I'll just keep quiet)... but... I think our little Neon's will hold the title as "king of cheap speed"... but then again, I like my car... ha-ha...

It sounds like you have a cool job. Do you get to do this often? I would think it's normal to have some bugs with a new product. Hopefully they will be all worked out by the time it gets to the showroom.
I love my car also. I look at it as a fast car for the poor man (or woman). Something the japanese don't make.
