what do yall do for winter tires?
are there any cheap steelie wheels for our bolt pattern? just wondering if i should get wheels/tires or just some snow and ice tires and put them on the oem rims.
Regular Neon steelies WILL NOT WORK. They do not clear the brake caliper on the front wheel. Also, I believe tirerack.com had steel wheel and snow tire package. I personally put snow tires on my 16" aluminum rims. Though I am not crazy about subjecting aluminum to salt. The tire I use is a directional tread "Winterforce" tire that is sold at my local Firestone dealer. They do not handle like the summer tires, but they are great in the snow. I live in Michigan and had no traction issues all winter last year.
tirerack unfortunatly dosent have any steelies and im not paying for alums, ill get better summer rims and use the oem for winter first. but you say pt cruiser steelies will work? i realize the 14" neon steel rims are way too small. but i guess if 15s will clear the brakes, itl be the cheapest way to go.

Once more, steel 15" Neon wheels do not fit.

They are not deep enough and hit the front wheel brake caliper. I believe they will clear the back brakes ok, just not the fronts. I remember it was so close to working though as if a wheel spacer might be enough to push the rim away from the brake.
