Default Loud banging noise

Good day everyone. I've been having a problem for the last few monthes, every time I full throttle and shift or have any wheel skip I hear and feel a loud bang on the floor board or somewhere near the firewall. Is there any possiblility that this is a transmission problem? I already had an engine replaced and they said their not replacing another.

Well... It only seems to do it from first to second and only under alot of torque. Sounds like someone hitting the floor board with a hammer.

It's does not effect performance or shifting. I want to avoid bringing back to the dealer at all costs unless it's something major. I've been grilled the last few times I went in there for problems.

check your tranny mount and the lower motor mount. sounds like you broke one of them.

yup, i was just going to suggest its a good excuse to upgrade your motor/tranny mounts! sounds like you may have cracked one. you could have a friend check to see how much your engine will rock back and forth, might be able to see if the motor is moving a little too much.

be careful with that. mine did the same thing so i figured i'd know what it was when it broke. it happened to be my axle. the dealer said it broke in the cv joint and because i had stage 2 i had to pay for it. 230 bucks later i went and bought some agp torque struts and tranny mount. i heard excessive wheel hop is murder on those joints. so either stop doing it, buy some new mounts, or end up replacing an axle. you could get stronger axles, but the wheel hop is the problem.

I know it's not the axel, I've had one replaced already... Are mounts expensive to do on this car? I want to avoid the dealer as I'm already black-balled there.

i got my agp mounts from JSC Speed for 125 and the tranny mount for 80. well worth it in my opinion. most places are about the same price, but JSC Speed lets you choose between black or silver. they stop the wheel hop and the loud clunk noise. if money is an issue then you could get inserts for about 40-50. they don't cause as much vibration in the car, which you get used to fairly quick. either way, they definetly help.

I think what your describing, is the oil pan hitting the lower motor mount, this will crack your oil pan in short order if you dont stop hammering it like that.
