wga vs. bc
the wastegate controls where the boost settles at, the bc controls the spike. if you're stock, you want to set the wga to around 12psi then adjust it higher with the bc. using both also will reduce lag, stumbling issues, and major spikes. if you want to save some cash just go with a manual boost controller, they're just as effective and like a 1/3 of the price. unless you're running (or will be running) a big turbo there's no need for high/low boost settings as you won't be running that much boost anyway.
MBC are the gayness[:'(], when I adjusted my MBC on my kinetic wastegate I got major spike but instead of the boost slowly dropping it would drop down after the spike to what the wastegate was set at. I did many runs with both wastegate and MBC, and wastegate by itself. The wastegate by itself adjusted right works better because all you get with a MBC is spikes. MBC allows more boost but doesnt hold it well compared to just runing the wastegate.

then either your lines weren't set up correctly or you didn't tune correctly, because that's not what a mbc does. i have my wga set at 15psi, and raised the boost with the mbc. i am currently running a 26psi spike holding 23psi with no issues at all.
the kinetic wga is kind of a pain in the *** to adjust as well, so my guess is that the wga wasn't set correctly to allow the mbc to do it's job, or your mbc just was shot which does happen.

no need to. why spend $300 on a ebc when a $60 mbc does the same thing? i tuned my boost on the dyno with a boost reference, so i know exactly what it's pushing. i don't see the need for a high/low setting when i can just regulate boost with my right foot. now if i had a much larger turbo running very high boost (like a gt35r running 40psi at the track) then i could see the need, but most people just aren't doing that.
