i push, i never actually grap the shift ****. i have a habbit of pulling off the clutch before i get into 3rd gear, which makes me grind. my foot is faster than my hand. i have to consciously think about slowing down on the clutch to get into gear, and because of that it slows me down. i've gotten into a grove with it the last few times out so it's getting back up to par, but it can still be faster.

 

I have the exact same problem with one difference: my transmission will not grind, it just refuses to go. But with a quick foot you get it back to the floor in time to catch it.

still on s3, and the turbo is completly stock. no dcr mod, no pnp to the manifold. i love my s3

 

Ah yes, the ol 2-3 crunch, I know it well. It used to be a problem for me 'till I decided to bypass the rev limiter and just leave it in second gear. Now I just breeze through the traps pulling about 42,500 rpm. It's a lot easier than shifting let me tell ya. I used to do this only when I was racing, but have adapted it to everyday life. In fact, I rarely get into second driving around town since I can do 80 mph in first at 60,000 rpm. So really, I just use first and reverse. Plus, it sounds really cool. Like a jet.

 

60,000 rpms ? ... **** thats nothin... a honda s2000 takes 3 days and 113,000 rpms just to hit vtec in first gear

 

I WAS THERE!!!! it was definately worth the wait ESPECIALLY to see that cute look on her face....she was actually hopping slightly with a HUGE smile, definately a kodak moment.
