Back to the intercooler chiller kits. I debated looking into the sensor and not only removing it from the cool air but possibly replacing it with a variable resistor. That way you could tell the CPU that it was hot and trick it into extra boost.

Second thought was that I know just enough to be dangerous. Withmy luck I would lean out my engine and the fun would be over.

Has anyone out theresuccesfully installed one of these things on an SRT-4?

I'm not trying to pick a fight, but all over the net there are those that say yes and no about this topic. I may be wrong but isn't NO2 Non Flammable ( Green diamond label )meaning that it wont catch on fire by itself ? When NO2 is released, and the temperature reaches 300 deg it will separate into Nitrogen and two parts Oxygen. So if there is a spark and there is enough O2 then you will have a hot spark. But without a continuous fuel supply, NO2 will not go BOOM.

Also NO2 is a oxidizer and is corrosive. Over time this will eat away at what you are spraying.

Peace.

See, I like that, I learned something new today. I didn't know of it's non-flamable nature when not added to a fuel/combustion situation. I do not use the stuff myself, I prefer to wear out and blow up my engines the old fashioned way.

Ok hear is the break down. Why waste nitrous(-25degrees) to the air when you can do it with CO2(-47degrees)? Now back to the intercooler chiller. Is it worth it? On a all stock or few mods SRT, No. Go buy the borla exhaust you will get more bang for the buck or a stage kit. Medium to highly modified? Yes. With every one pound of boost(over stock. That's why it is pre set)you get a 10 degree increase in intercooler temp. Running the stock intercooler and 19 psi of boost on 105 octaneVP gas. With remote heat senors all over my car i found out that the hottest thing under the hood was the intercooler, After hard boosting and 20 minutes of stop and go Houston summer(September) traffic(97deg)my intercooler temp was 360 degrees! Thetotal under hood temp was 150 degrees. The radiator was 201 degrees the a/c condensor was 215 degrees and the air flow thru the grill was 100.5 degrees(From the road surface i guess, the out side temp was 97)SO i purchased the Nitrous express chiller, showed up five days later( FEDex overnight what a joke)and installed it in about two hours. Well instead of listening to me i used the advice of others and filled the tank on nitrous and moved the heat sensor next to the pressure pipe going to the intake as i wanted to see what kind of temps were going out and into the motor. With my younger brother handling the driving(Ricer all the way. current ride is a 535whp '03evo)and me working the lap top. With what winter we have temps for the day were 90 degrees partly cloudly 86 hum. He ran the dog out of it heated up enough that you could see the heat rising from the hood i told him to start of in first and hit the spray at 20mph and not do anything till i said so. Wel the intercooler temp was 325 degrees, withinthree seconds of the gas sprayingdroped to 34 degrees and came in the motor at 61 degrees, The Greedy E-01 showed boost level at 23.6 psi even though i had it sit on 19 psi. My brother let the BOV do its job before we blew something up. After lowering the boost to 15psi(near stock) With the sprayer going boost leveled out at 21.2 psi from 3 to near 6 grand and we were getting tire spin in fourth gear(Still had the stock 17's on it) With out a dought it was a solid35 to 42 whp increase(never dynoed it by its self so not sure)over the other mods done to date. After that bottle was gone i used CO2 ever since and posted the best times with it. I have since but in a larger intercooler and the boost has actually fallen below 19psi i am thinking about putting the stock intercooler back in.
