Motor Mount Question..???
I have seen different things for motor mounts.
<Energy Suspension Upper and Lower motor mount inserts
<Prothane Motor Mount Inserts (street -n-race)
I was wondering which one is better for taking the wheel hop out and if anyone has these on their SRT-4 or any other inserts and how they work..Thanks

RR has a really good explanation a few postings back that goes into a lot of detail on the whole MM issue....it's not hard to find.....[sm=smiley20.gif]
Both the Energy Suspension and the Prothane inserts are about the same, the only apparent difference is the way they mount. The Energy Suspension mounts use weak zip ties that are well known for breaking and the Prothane uses a big washer to hold it in place. Most people that use the Energy Suspension inserts replace the crappy zip ties with bolts, nuts and washers and I think the mounts need to come out to do this. With the Prothane all you need to do is take the mount bolt out and then put the insert in and then the bolt with the big washer.
I went with the Prothane, they're easier to install and about $5 cheaper, you just can't go wrong with them.[sm=smiley20.gif]

Thanks RR..I think I will order the Prothane inserts..Did it help out on the take off for you? I figure if they help with the wheel hop a lil you cant go wrong for like $20 something bucks..
I did the ES set on the upper only, with the bolt replacement. I'll post pics soon, but I can tell you this..... 1700-2000 rpm, dump the clutch, and hammer the throttle. Wheel hop? no, just boost and fun. ask those cute 'lil mustang GT's. I must say, last night was my best night so far. Older model carerra, got him by 4 lengths to 90mph, a 99 vette auto, don't know exactly how far ahead i was, but when we stopped 'n talked, he mentioned that we made it 'all the way up to 120, i relayed back that I was going 135mph when he flashed his lights at me 'n let off". probably, 10-15 lengths, minimum. And last, the good 'ole pony. 98 convertable, 3 men all late 20's, start laughing at the light about my car. I gave 'em a little smile, my friend told 'em we'd give 'em a head start. We rolled out together, i waited 'till he smashed it, waited a second longer, and let into it. Finished off first by pulling the length back on him that I let him build, slammed second, let him hear my nice 'lil BOV 'n tires scrambling for traction. I went ahead 'n gave him a shot of what it's like seeing a NEON bust WOT shifts thru 3rd and 4th. Last but not least, a silver lightning with a couple hispanics in it. Apparently they haven't heard of a neon yet, or haven't run into one yet around here with a guy that can drive it. We went from a 40 roll, he put about a ¼length on me, basically a fender sticking out in front, 'till I WOT'd 3rd. I pulled back and walked on by. We lined up at the light, and I guess they didn't realize that I "WAS" staging when I was moving my 44oz soda from the cup holder to the center console. He burned rubber, I left. God I love this car.
