Default Engine Oil

Im currently running regular motor oil in my car with about 22K miles on it.. I want to switch to full synthetic. Do you think this will hurt the engine or anything by doing this?

You need to switch to full synthetic due to the high temps the engine and turbo run at. The high temps in the turbo will end up cooking regular dino oil over time. It's recommended by the factory and a 5 quart jug of Mobil-1 will run you $22 and some change at Wal Mart.............

Well yeah, it'll help make them last longer..........and due to the lower friction properties of syn oil, you should get a slight improvement in MPG and power.........today's syn oils are fully compatable with dino oil, you can run a 50/50 mix if you want, but you won't get the full protection of full synthetic.

yeah, full synthetic is the only way to go in turbocharged cars. think about it, some of that oil is running through your turbo for cooling. dont want to cook it. i admit once i ran regular once when i couldnt change it myself (they wanted like $30 more to use synthetic, i said **** off) and then right back to synthetic. it only costs a couple bucks more to use the synthetic (depending on the brand $20-25). give your car a christmas present and switch it to synthetic!

im running 5W30 for the winter
