TIRES 4 FACTORY WHEELS
alright guys, i know that this has been discussed but i cant seem to find the thread. for the factory 17 x 6 wheels what would be the widest tire that we can fit. i think 225/50 or 40 was the answer to the ?, but just wanted to be 4 sure. also i have had my car for little over 2 years and have been thru 3 sets of tires, has anyone else had this kind of luck with these tires. im now runnin 205/40's and they seem to be lasting longer than the 205/50's. anyone know where to find a nice set of 17's? need help with style though. my car is black so i dont know if i want the solid black, black w/ chrome lip, or go back to the silver.....any input???? also debating on size of rim....17" or 18". car is not lowered, but def. a future project so would 17" with a 1.2/F & 1.5/R be a nice package with good gap removal?
i would stay 17" rims, but go at least 7" wide. if you want to run 225s youll need to get new rims to do it safely, youll be driving on bubbles otherwise. chrome with black lip or black with chrome lip would look nice.
I got my rims at Edgeracing they were really inexpensive and look pretty good on my car. I run the Eibach Prokit on my car...but it barely looks lowered. I'm gonna save for some coilovers and that will fix my problem. Black SRT-4 with black/polished lip will look the best IMO.
