new parts installed
Well, I got my K&N CAI installed, have to say it was much easier than the BOV I tried last week. I LOVE
the sound! Definately worth the price, plus I get a tad bit better gas mileage. I also put in the MOPAR STS, unfortunately, I have no idea where two of the bushings go, somewhere underneath, where my big head won't fit. Still a much cleaner feel to the shift though. Next step, on advice, is MSD wires and an oil catch can. So, now I find myself thinking, where do I go from here? My wife says to stop spending money but still loves what little I've done so far. Are there anymore small, semi-cheap mods I can do? As always, thanks for any and all help.

I think the general consensus is this "spring mod" is a bad idea... I am sure those with more experience/knowledge will answer this question... I await their remarks!
what's considered "cheap mods" in your book?? the borla/Mopar exhaust has gotten some good ratings from users... by the way, the 2 bushings you can't find, are on the top of the transaxle (or transmission, though technically it's a transaxle)... either way, the battery tray has to come out to get to them... once that is over, it's easy to put the two other bushings on (similar to the way the two bushings inside the car went on)..

Both the Mopar/Borla exhaust and the Stage 1 upgrade PCM run about the same $$$ wise and are fairly easy to install...[&:]
The spring mod is worthless since after a little while the PCM will notice it and adjust to it making it useless. After the MSD wires and the OCC, the next cheapest I can think of is the Prothane motor mount inserts for $23.99 at Modern Performance. It will make a noticeable difference in putting the power to the ground as well as eliminating wheel hop. By planting the power to the ground better and quicker it will make the car accelerate faster and lower your 1/4 mile times. Then on the cheap mod list would be the MPx front strut tower brace which only costs $39.99 at Modern Performance. The last cheap mod I can think of is a DC CS-2 rear strut tower brace for $89.99 also from Modern Performance. Then it jumps in price to the Mopar Stage 1 PCM for $324.99 and the Mopar/Borla exhaust for $324.99. After these mods it tends to get more expensive and more involved to do the mods.

From what I've read, I don't think I'll be doing the spring mod any time soon, I've heard before about the PCM readjusting and pretty much making it obselete. As for the more in depth ones, please keep in mind I have one tool box full of tools, most of which are the same thing so I'm not too capable of the more complecated mods; I'm assuming the exhaust and the PCM are beyond my abilities. Are there places to have them installed if I order them? How would I go about searching for them? Please don't say my only option was my dodge dealer, they are...not my type of people. So, with the motor mounts, I haven't looked yet but is this something I can do with my limited tools or does it require special ones?

I had the Mopar/Borla exhaust done at Midas...I had to deal a bit with the manager, but since his profit all came from labor, what could he say? They did an excellent job, but I DID stand right by the car while they worked on it.....35 minutes, in/out......
The Stage 1 PCM isn't that hard. Getting the airbox off is your biggest effort. The old PCM comes right out and the new one screws and plugs right in.....just make sure you get the plugs in the right spots.....[sm=smiley20.gif]
You have all you need to do both the exhaust and the PCM. The PCM only requires a screw driver and a few sockets, extension and a ratchet. The exhaust is even easier, it only requires a ratchet and 1 or 2 sockets and that is it. A jack and jack stand would also be very helpful, but if you do not have those you can simply drive up on something to raise one side of the car a little.
