The bypass valve is a very[sm=badidea.gif]. It even says right on the paper work that comes with it that it can cause a loss of power, especially in a turbocharged car.[sm=noooo.gif][sm=forgetit.gif][sm=badidea.gif][sm=nothatway.gif][sm=trust_me.gif]

Never heard of that on a Turbocharged car. But I didn't have a TC car last so it works fine for my NA car.

Which bypass valve do you have? The AEM bypass valve specifically states in the paperwork/instructions that it can cause a loss of performance in any car, but that it is far more likely in a turbocharged/supercharged application.[sm=badidea.gif][sm=icon_rtfm.gif][sm=smiley2.gif]

Yeah the AEM CAI will rub in two places, one is the clamps on the rubber connection between the two pipes, the other is between the tube and the were it passes thru the fender...I glued the rubber gasket in they sent with the kit....a month later...its gone. Another thing is the AEM CAI is a full 3 inches and the K&N Typhoon is 2.5 inches...and i saw two identical Stage 1 pcm, mopar cat backs, and mopar BOV on a dyno....K&N made over 15 more WHP.....I want to throw my AEM back to them as it has scratrched the underside of my hood, but oh well carbon fiber one is on the way....

Actually I have no Bypass on my SRT right now. Just running strictly the CAI. I think the filter is high enough away from the ground that I won't have to worry about water. On my SI, the filter was probably about 4 inches away from the ground, so I put one on in the event I trounced through more than 4 inches of water.

That's a scary thought, that's why I have seen water pooled and turned around and taken an alternate route to where I was going.[][:@]

I live in the High Desert. Apple Valley, California. When we get rain which isnt often but it happens we get flooded pretty bad. Might this be a problem if i were to go with a K & N?

No, because it is designed to easily be changed from cold ait to short ram. Or if your like me and think you may have to go through questionable water, just loosen the hose section that connects the two pipes and slide it down onto the lower pipe and retighten it. This way it will breath through the open gap, but since this air will not be filtered I would only do this in a necessary situation.
