MSD coil and wires install
Hey guys want your opinion on something. I installed my MSD wires, coil pack, and NGK 4306 plugs gapped at .35 . When I drive in the morning now until the car fully heats up I'm getting a popping noise from my engine compartment. This noise only happens when I let off of the gas. What you think ?
Burnout, my 4306 plugs came factory gapped to .052 just like NGK say's they are supposed to be. I did double check them carefully before putting them in but .035 sounds too tight.
I don't know if that would cause the problem you're describing but .035 just didn't sound right. I've also read a lot of posts in here saying to stay away from the MSD coil mainly because it's a waste of money rather than a poor product. It supposedly doesn't put out anything more than the stock coil.
This post below is straight from NGK's website.

I bought the coil for looks more than anything ..... I have been told by numerous people that a gap of .35 was the ideal gap for running stage 2, so that's what I went by .... I know when you buy the stage 3 kit it reccomends that gap.
And to answer srtbris......... [sm=pcwhack.gif]..... LoL... I'm not an idiot bro.
