Default Two Questions

First: What kind of modifications do you suggest to improve the handling without spending too much money
( I was thinking of a spring from mopar stage 1 )

Second: The dealer told me that any kind of modifications I would do on the engine would void my warranty, even the stage 1 from mopar.

Please let me know what I can do, because I really do not want to void my warranty!

One more thing, I am doing between 12-15 miles/gallon, driving mostly in the city, and have no modifications on my car, and I am thinking that is a bit much?

Thank you for your advice
Gilles

DC front Strut bar and Perrin rear roll bar....will help out the most and cost the less under $250 for both....
Don't buy Mopar parts from the same dealer you got the car from...Go someplace else, other dealer or mail order it....get the point...can always uninstall the "MOD" and know one will no but you...

OK, here it is straight from the manufacturer. They cannot void your warranty no matter what mod you put on. This is part of the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, US Code - Title 15, Chapter 50, Section 2301-2312. Go back to your dealership and ask them to see the Mopar Street Essentials catalog. When they bring it out, turn to page 4 and point to chapter 3 and tell them to read it, out loud if you want to really rub it in their faces and make them look like complete morons and or liars. Here is what it says word for word straight from DCX:

"Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep vehicle and parts warranties are voided if the vehicle or parts are used for competition. The addition of performance parts does not by itself void a vehicle's warranty. However, added performance parts (parts not originally supplied on the vehicle from the factory) are not covered by the vehicle's warranty, and any failure that they may cause is also not covered by the vehicle's warranty."

So there you have it in their own words, they cannot void your warranty unless they can prove that your mods were the direct cause of the failure. If you would like, you can download the Mopar Street Essentials catalog in pdf form. Here is a direct link to it: http://www.mopar.com/StreetCatalog.pdf

Now go out and mod all you want and rub their own words in their faces.[sm=exactly.gif][sm=itsok.gif][sm=smiley20.gif]

Thank you for answering.
Just want to clarify one thing: does that mean I have to use Mopar parts or can I use parts from turbocharger.com?
Do you think that if I put a front and rear sway bar and smaller springs it would improve the handling?
Last thing, do you think that doing 10-12 miles/gallon is normal for a stock car?

Thanks for all your input.

www.modernperformance.com

is a good site to get stuff, they have done very well for me...

12/15 is a bit extreme for city driving, I get around 20 on average... but I don't race everyone, or at every stop light, or keep my foot on the fun pedal... it seems a bit extreme, but not too far out of the question I suppose if you are beating the living crap out of your car... if you drive it like a little old lady named Ethel then yes, your mileage seems too low...

other manufacturers parts shouldn't be a problem, assuming they are installed correctly...

that value sounds incredibly low for gas mileage... if you are not "rodding" the car

Your mpg are way too low. Are you filling your tank to the top or stopping when the cutoff clicks???
