the sst from ptp isn't going to get you anywhere near 450hp, so don't waste your time with it. it's a nice turbo don't get me wrong, but it's not going to make serious power like you're looking for.

dbb50= dual ball bearing 50 trim. sorry, i should have typed it out. i've seen some of these make awesome power on not that much boost. a friend of mine has one and with that and basic bolt ons (slicks, w/i, cams, emanage/e01, exhaust, etc.) he did a 11.4 with a 1.9 60' on pump gas, so i know that thing as a hell of a lot more in it. it's a great turbo, and is easy to manage on the street. the only issue with it is that it's a belly button turbo. if you want something a little different that will still give you good numbers look into the GT30R, it's slightly bigger but has very good spool and powerband characteristics.

i say that my s3 is limiting me now because i'm starting to hit it's max efficiency range. i'm currently holding 27psi, and i'm going to be getting the manifold pnp'd as well as the turbo and getting it clipped, so i know that's about all i'm going to get out of it. i think i'll see in the area of 450 on C16, 420 on pump. but that's about all she's got. i'm also debating playing around with nitromethane just to get some more timing out of her. at this point, i've got no where left to go with it. so it's time fora bigger turbo (there's probably a GT35R in my future )

Don't DBB turbo's cost like $3000 just for the turbo? Then you'll need a exhaust mani, and.......well the list goes on. I like bangs for few bucks. SST might not get 450whp but it WILL get you into the 11's (with slicks and supporting mods).

the dbb is a $500 upgrade. it's $2600 for the kit, which includes turbo, manifold, wga, dump tube, o2 housing, oil lines, heatshield, overflow bottle and all hardware. the $2600 also includes a larger s5 wheel and bling (polished housing and heat sheild). if you go with the basic dbb50 it's $2400. so no, it's not insanely priced. and that turbo will get you deep into the 11's, not just a 11.9....
