1. It cools the incoming air charge down even further than the intercooler does. (Below ambient temps even).
2. It slows the flame front, reducing the tendency for pre-ignition, basically the same thing as running higher octane fuel.
WI works really well in our cars because the ECU sees the lower temps intake air temps and compensates with more timing. Which, because of the "octane effects" of the WI, doesn't cause knock so you get max ignition timing safely.
i think any s2 ecm will work....and a 05 if im not mistaken should be the same as 03-04....i think its just specific to your mileage....when u call in to order they'll clear all that up 4 u.....if they dont...then stay away, or at least thats my understanding
There was a change to the ECU from 04 to 05, I believe in 05 they got rid of the battery temp sensor. It's something you want to double check for sure.
Well, I bought a Stage 2 with Toys ECU today and I'm planning on ordering the Toys box from N2MB tomorrow. Now I just need to find a good deal on some injectors and sensors and I'll be set. I think I'm going to get a W/I kit also. I've been reading about them today, and it seems like what I need.
