True, but I wanted to mention it just for the record....and in case someone decides to take it that far.

Hopefully they will go that far - this car is great at speed and I would love to see how it stacks up when the going gets good against a "true" sports car.

Technically it is supose to be limited to 148 MPH, but everyone that takes it up there gets anywhere from 153 MPH and up above and beyond the 160 MPH of the speedo.

Top speed for the boxster should be higher than an srt4, after all it's a Porsche. The srt4 can't really do much more than what it does stock cause of the gearing. You'll bounce off the rev limiter.

2004 SRT-4 won't bounce til around 163.

Been to 158 with a bit in reserve.

Pretty similar to a boxter s.

All things considered srt-4 vs. boxter s = great race.

The SRT-4 handles great at 150!!!!!

I am ready for carrera's!!!!!(except at top speed(I'm not an idiot))

Bring 'em on! Racing Germans is even better than racing mustangs - At least german cars can handle.

just out of curiosity (and I mean no disrespect)... 163mph? how were you able to go that fast when Car & Driver posted a best of 153mph (I might need to recheck this number) and it was drag limited (meaning the aerodynamics of the car wouldn't push it faster...) again, the assumption they used a "professional" test track...

just curious... I have hit 140mph (for a very brief instant) in my car, and it seemed to want to go faster... I chickened out...

Never hit 163. As I said I hit 158 with a little bit left.

It was at about 5600 rpm at 158.

158 was a speedo reading(Should be accurate; I tested it at 60 and it's dead on.+stock tires and rims so no variance.).

Was c&D testing a 2004? I do usually agree with their results, but I definitely saw 158.(which btw scares the crap out of me in retrospect)(won't do it again w/o a helmet).

Does anyone know of a track in the northeast with a long enough striaght to get this thing maxxed out? I would love to see what it can do in a controlled environment.
