hey guys i just test drove a 04 srt-4 and i just wanted to know what is the difference between the 03 and 04? The 04 is going for 21,000 and an private seller is selling his 03 srt for 15000. which one should get? and which one will give me more performance gains in the long run?

 

the 04 already has 20 more horsepower and has a differential. So you are already way ahead just with the differential, but you can do about the exact same amount of mods to both cars because they are the same motor, just tweeked a little different...

 

Actually the '04 officially has 15 more ponies due to the larger fuel injectors taken off of the 2003 Stage 1 upgrade.

If you get the Stage 1 for a 2004, you don't have to worry about installing the injectors, just the PCM. The diff makes a big difference as well.

 

sorry, I was trying to give the 04s more power than they had... The 03s were 215 and the 04s were 230 HP. so, only a 15 hp gain...

Yep, you get more horses and a limited slip differential in the '04. Plus you get the added options of a sunroof and/or a Kicker stereo with a powered subwoofer too.

 

Just some info i checked into. Invoice according to kelly blue book on the 04 is $19515 i think it was about the same for my area. I paid 19600 for mine and with the 05's around the corner you might be able to catch one on a even better deal. But i wouldnt pay over $20000 for an 04. IMO of course.

I believe so... but not sure, Dusty has the stage one, he should have some good price info!
