Does anyone have any information on how to fix scratched wheels (ie rubbed against a curb)?

I looked online, but I could only find one "how-to" from a Audi message board. It seemed like it would work, but I would like to avoid having to paint since the scratches are on a polished (not painted) lip.

Also, I know there are places that will do it, but I can't find one in my area, and I would like to give it a try myself (if possible). I think it would be a good experience

 

dont know much about it. what for rims do you have? if they are the stock rims you can get a new one for about 100 bucks. there has to be a way of fixing them, although like jacked up paint, it will probably never be the same, just less noticable.
