I had to go get my emissions done on my car today and they said that the obd was not ready. They said I can't do emissions until the obd reads ready. I disconnected the battery for the cai installation and they said that is why the obd is not ready. They also said that it could take 7 days before it will be ready to test. Has anyone ever had this problem?
I am from baltimore maryland. I have drove the car for about 100 miles or so before I even took it there PSI chick. Do you think that there could be something wrong with it? Is there something I should do?
no i doubt that there's anything wrong with it, you probably just didn't go through the correct sequence. each emission test requires a certain style of driving (ex: driving withing 3500-5000 rpms for 10 minutes). you probably just didn't meet the requirements. if you really want to get it done quickly, if you know anyone that has an obd machine you can use that to force the tests and it will be ready then. otherwise you just have to drive it. this is another benefit of s2/s3, none of this waiting stuff lol
Since were on the subject, does doing a cam job on your car fail the emissions? A guy I work with told me it does but I had to find out for sure. I think he's an idiot.
