Liftgate problem
Hi,
First post here, but I've found a good bit of helpful information on previous visits. Maybe someone can help me with this problem.
I've got a 2001 GC Sport that I bought used last year. Nice van, but I've been working out a few bugs since I bought it. One peculiar thing I've noticed is that the power liftgate functions fine when the outdoor temperature is above about 75. At lower temperatures, however, it makes all the right noises and sounds like it's trying to open, but never makes it.
I had the van in the dealer's garage the other day for another issue, and I asked for a diagnosis and price to fix the liftgate and was told it has a "defective latch." Maybe so, but it seems to me that since it works fine in warm weather maybe the latch needs lubrication.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
