Switching from Ford F-150 to Dodge Ram
My story:
My last two trucks were Fords. My wife also drove a Ford Explorer, Eddie Bauer edition, which she totaled a few years ago. Not to go into too much detail, but my current F-150 lost compression in cylinder #7 a few weeks ago (98,000 miles). It has the Triton V8. Transmission had to be rebuilt at 70,000 miles. I was just driving down the highway and heard a clunk. It seems every 2-3 weeks, I have my mechanic working on something, so I'm not going back to Ford. I have researched the Silverado, Titan, Tundra, and Ram the last two weeks and decided to go with a Ram 1500.I have looked locally, on Autotrader, Ebay and other places for the right one in my price range. Today, I pulled the trigger on a 2005Ram 1500 Quad cab, Black with Sports package. It only has 16000 miles and was a prior lease vehicle, with no negatives on Autocheck. I will be picking it up Friday. I have used this site the last few days to assist in my search. There is a ton of information that was extremely helpful in getting the right truck for my needs. I hopethis story has a happyending.
