Hi
First dodge I have ever owned. 02 dakota quad slt 4wd. Bought it used. Guess what , I now have the infamous differential howl after owning it for 2 months. Anyone know where I can purchase the tool for adjusting the carrier bearings? Sounds like a pinion job but from what i have read i need that tool to set the backlash after.

tks

Not a very good start in my dodge relationship.

welcome, let me guess it is the limited slip rear diff. I have been there good luck. By the way some people have been lucky when they change the diff fluid in it the noise goes away. I don't know that that will work. Go post the question in the 2nd gen dakota page and you will get better help.
