Default How do I chain up the front

Hello All!

Have 2008 1500 4x4with stock 20" rims, How do I put tire chains on the front with the clearances to the fender well and the clearance between the inside of the tire and support post (the inside of the tire only clears the support post by 3/4 inch or so).
I allways have to chain up the front tires in the winter to go ice fishing.
Have been sick thinking I can't use my new truck this winter.
What are people doing about this?
Would like to hear from some one that has got a solution to this.

Thanks,so, much Billy Goat

Welcome Billy Goat to the Dodge Forum.

Another option might be traction cables rather than chains. They would have much more clearance than chains. I got mine at Pep Boys.

When I lived in Alaska, these traction cables were the must-have item of the winter season: Shur Grip "Z". Instead of going straight across the tire surface, they zig-zag, much smoother ride. Best of all, they auto-center and auto-balance, and are pretty simple to install.
