Hey, how's it goin? I'm Josh, orginally from Southern Va., joined the navy a year ago and now stationed in beautiful San Diego, Ca.

I wanted a truck that reminded me of home, and I know there there's mud somehwere down here. Not only that, but whenever I decide to get a bike I wanted a way to transport it if I ever needed.

I don't have any current pics, but she's a white 01 Dodge Ram Sport, 5.9l 396, 127k miles... after market crank and cams (name brand ecscapes me), domed pistons, single cherry bomb exhuast, 4.56 gears, 3/4 ton tranny,, aluminum radiator (removed stock fan and installed electric radiator fan). 31" mudders on there right now but i got a set of 35" sand tires at my buddy's house. 3" stock lift in the rear, jensen flip out mp3, cd etc, rear view camera hooked up to screen (needs to be replaced), cb with 4' antennas (currently removed, lol)... stock intake, but i've been thinkin about those custom dual CAIs i see sometimes.. some headers would be nice, maybe 6 inches of lift.

BUT last week my rear end went.. I don't know who to trust because I'm not mechanically inclined. i bought the truck with everything she had on it. I was priced $1005 for everything, $700 for a used rear axel alone. (bearing went bad and on my second trip to the shop it completely screwed over). I don't know if I should trust the man cause he said i didn't drive a 5.9l, but a 5.7

Looks to be a nice forum and commuity of people.. I look forward to learning alot.

Welcome to DF Josh. SD is a nice city. I live north of there in south OC. Many moons ago I was stationed at Camp Pendleton (Marine Corps). Sorry I can't help with any ideas for local mechs but if you post all your questions over in the 2nd Gen Ram section, noticed you did post a different one over there, you will have a better chance of getting quicker answers. Again welcome and thank you for your service to our country.

San Diego is nice, been there twice in the last 9 months. I'd post your problem in one of the other forums for help finding a mechanic. I don't know about mud, but there's a $&#*$&7-load of sand down there!
