My first Truck!
Just got my first truck ever... it's a 99 1500 5.2L. I don't know much about these things but I'm looking forward to learning... I would like to get a small lift on my truck, a nice sound system
, and a SICK sounding exhaust
. Let me know if you have any suggestions. I'm in TX so hit me up if you're in the Austin area. -James.
Also if you could let me know what any of the things on my truck means, please, explain... I'm a noob.
1500? SLT? What do these mean and what does the "SLT" stand for and what makes it an SLT?

SLT means you didnt get the cheap model lol They ussually have power everything and have most of the options.
1500 means its only a half ton. That means you can only haul so much before your overweitht, depending if you have the "Heavy Duty" package. If you have the HD package, that means you have the 3/4 ton susp. giving you more susp. to haul heavier stuff with.
5.2L is your engine size. Being a 5.2L V8 will be a 318CI (Cubic Inch-Engine displacement) You will have plenty of power to haul heavier loads (suspension permitting). Also, having the V8 will give you a nice rumble when you add an exhaust like a Flowmaster, Magnaflow, Gibson etc. there is many companies.
