Hello people...hope im doing this right...need help!!!!

hi..im 46 years old...have a 2005 dodge dakota....when i was 18 had a 340 duster..loved it...
but my problem is my brakes...replaced the rotors and the pads....every once to often the callipers lock up while im driving...get that wonderful smell and have to pull over and let brakes cool off.....some tell me it might be the return ports in master cylinder...anyone have any suggestions???thanks
