Default Hello, New R/T owner :)

Hello Everyone

I just registered today and I'm super excited to meet new friends.

A little bit about myself. I was really into imports for awhile and got bored of them, and wanted a change. I was in the market for a clean Dodge Ram, but came across a 99' Dakota R/T that was for sale locally. When I saw this R/T I just fell in love it and knew this was what I wanted. I never heard of a R/T before, but after doing research I'm so glad I know what one is now I just bought it over the weekend and just got it legal today It needs a few things, but not a big deal to me. I'm so happy and super excited to meet other Dodge owners.

I would love to know more about R/T. Mine is a 99' Club Cab, its black. It's a gas hog, lol. I need to fill it up, but have no idea what octane to use for I don't have a owners manual. Tried to find information about the truck, but everyone has different opinions about unleaded and premium in a R/T. I just want to know what's recommended. Also, would love to know where to get parts for a R/T, need to replace the arm rest (has cracks), amongst a few other little things. Any help would be so great!

My name is Tiffany and I'm currently in the Louisville, Ky area

Welcome to the site. Check out the second generation Dakota section. There is a forum jump pull down menu in the lower right to navigate. Let me see some pictures of the Valiant!

Thank you! Here are some photos I took over the weekend. The Valiant is put up for the winter now. It's a 64' Signet V200 from California. I'm the 2nd owner. It has 54,000 original miles and drives like a brand new car. I love the slant six, but it's getting pulled out this winter and getting painted, then a V8 put in. It's completely stock accept the air shocks and centerlines. It's a push button, automatic.

This is my 4th Valiant I've owned over the years. I sold my 2 dr hardtop, hurst 4spd awhile ago and regret it now. Any who, this is her as of right now.

I have a 340 and a 440 laying in the garage. After talking to family members and other Valiant owners I might go another route though. Who knows, I'm always changing my mind, lol. First thing is getting her painted .

Now that that I think about it, I am not sure if anything bigger than the 273 will fit...

Some Valiant's came with the 273, but I have seen some crazy swaps in a 64' Valiant. You can go bigger than a 273.
