Talking New Forum Fiend/Friend

Hey everyone!

New Dodge owner here, very excited to find the forum. Just purchased a 2008 Dodge Durango SLT 4.7 V8 with 30k, silver in color. So far, I love it! I was going for the HEMI but due to poor credit I settled for the 4.7. Not a big deal to me.

A few of my interests that I plan on researching asap, include:

-Pros and Cons of aftermarket installs (exhaust, chip, intake, headers, etc.). Mainly, Im concerned with recommendations regarding the best fits for my vehicle and whether its worth it given the loss (these parts reduce mpg, right?) in mpg.

-Synthetic oil battles, which is best: Mobil 1, Amsoil, Red Line, etc.?

-Efficient technique and guidance on DIY fixes/upgrades

-Recommended preventative maintenance

But most of all, I look forward to meeting others in this excellent Dodge community to share ideas with and learn from!

Thanks everyone!
Oh yeah, the name is Chris

Welcome to the site. As far as modifications go I would start with a cold air intake, exhaust headers and a cat back system. Then do a port and polish cylinder heads and a more aggresive cam shaft with longer rods for lift of .60" for driveability,

Thanks everyone! Nice to meet you. Great advice, too. The CAI is coming this weekend along with some cosmetics for the exterior. However, I am running into many issues trying to find headers for the 4.7 V8 Flex? Im also having trouble finding a catback setup. Only thing I could find was on the MOPAR site. Is anyone aware of a site where I might find quality headers and exhaust (JBA, Gibson, Magnaflow, etc.) to help my baby breath?

I appreciate all the help, pics coming soon...

Go to SummitRacing.com or JEGS.com. I have Gibson headers and Borla exhaust, true dual exhaust systems. On my trucks.
