Default location of thermostat

Hi Folks!
My problem is my heater in a 1986 Dodge Duster [Turismo] is blowing cold air and I cannot seem to locate the thermostat to change it. If anyone can help me out I would appreciate the word Thanks Bryan

Welcome to the site. You heater coil is probaly shot, not your engine thermostat. Your heater coil should be under the dash beside the firewall and may be leaking coolant. Check you radiator to see if it is low as the heater coil may have a leak,

Hey FF Thanks for getting back to me. I checked the coolant and its fine so I'm praying it's still the therm. I called Auto Zone and they only want $7 and change for the therm and .99 for the gasket so I'll try that first and see what happens. Let you know thanks again....B

OK I put in the thermostat and its still a no go, so FF you are more than likely right about the coil. So my next question is does anyone have a schematic or a link to one that can show me how to change the heater coil for my Duster. It's not a bad little car, my grandmother sold it to me for $500 after she was told she could'nt drive anymore. Damn thing only has 63,000 miles on it and the interior is cherry. Not bad for an 86'. Thanks to anyone who can help me from freezing my butt off on my way to work. I would just give it to a garage but I'm the kind of guy that likes to learn how fix things that break......B

I can move this to the section that this pertains, but I am not sure what the Plymouth Duster is comparable to in the Dodge line,

Hey FF, the Duster guys post down in my section, I have a sticky there for the Duster/Shadow owners to check in.

You could try flushing the heater core its just a matter of unhooking the two hoses and attaching a garden hose to the top line going in and flushing it out the bottom.

Thanks, I know the Duster was comparable to the Demon / Dart, but after the seventies I was lost,
