Just thought that I would stop here and ask a couple of question.... I am a potential Dodge owner, or my wife is... as I am looking at a 02 Dakota SLT with 84k on the clock.... for about 9k.
When it comes to dodges I am a noob and before I pulled the trigger I was looking for a little insight... it has the 4.7lt v8, been well maintained and a clean carfax.
I have done some research and came up with some good points... IE gas milage is not all that great. I have read some reviews that the front end can be hard to maintain...

So I am going to talk to the owner and I beyond the normal, buying a used truck question, is there any specific questions that I should be aware of or ask?

To me, milage is not an issue w/ Dodge. I know with the earlier Ram 1500's there was an issue w/ the transmissions. I had a problem w/ my 2001 but that was 3 trucks ago. The problem was fixed around 2002 supposedly. I have not heard about any issues w/ the Dakota's. Might want to post on the Dakota forum to see if owners have had any problems.
