Default 99' 1500 Sport Quad Shortbed

Hey guys,
Just saying hello. I've owned my truck since brand new. She's got 73,000 on the clock (5.9L) and and I've always loved my Ram pickup. She came loaded with everything and she's a great looking truck! I'll have to post pics real soon.
I've got just one issue that I'll have to see if it is common or not with our trucks and search on this forum. I'm burning oil pretty fast but the truck seems to run great for the most part. I've got to get this figured out soon.
I've read elsewhere that it might be the intake manifold plenum gasket. Is this an expensive fix and what damage have I possible done?
