Default New Dodge Ram owner

Well I did it....I bought a 2007 Dodge Ram quad cab 1500 Big Horn 5.7L Hemi! This is the first Dodge I have owned, unless you want to count an old beater Eagle Vision I had back in high school. I love it, it is large with tons of room for my family (stepped up from an 06 saturn ion....so anything would feel roomy), awesome power, smooth ride, just plain old bad to the bone! My only problem is gas mileage...and though I did not buy this to get good gas mileage I think 9.3MPG in town and 13.2MPG highway is not correct...that is completely empty under normal speeds. Any thoughts anybody? Any help would be appreciated and awesome forum!

When my overall avg is 13.2 set on USA vs Metric, I am Happy. I would recommend ditching the factory copper plugs as they run too hot in my opinion and the gap can open up off spec just after 3 months (Check tailpipe for Black Charcoal). Try one Temp colder (NGK 4306 I believe) 0r more expensive 2314 Iridium good for years too, Also I have seen the cheap factory Spark Plug wires be toast after 2 to 3 years as well. Air Filter is also pretty important (every 6 months if you live in the dust). I have 225 K or 135 Thousand miles on mine and am a firm believer in adding Fuel Injector cleaner for a full Tank every three thousand miles. In my case helps eliminate that pesky P0172 Code. Yep in my opinion Plugs, Wires, Air Filter, and a clean Fuel system will get you the best mileage.
