Default Soon to buy 95 Neon

I am soon to be getting the deal of the century. A 95 Dodge Neon sport from a little old lady who was my coworker for $500 canadian. Everything Works. Performs Great. Handles Great. High Kilometers but all highway (215K) .
This is coming on the heals of owning my 1988 Volkswagen Fox which has cost me over $2000 and has only yeilded me about 10,000 kms. As of right now it sits on my driveway, waiting for a tranny swap.
I have had good experiances with domestics in the past, a 1992 buick century which our family owned for over 10 years and which we put 235,000 kms on it. It was a tank, my first car. Eventually the slushbox started to go and I sold it. It had not cost me a dime and it sold for a decent price.
The other domestics we have owned which I had been to young to drive were an 86 Olds Cutlass Ciera (no probs except warranty repaired TBI system). And an 81 Buick Century 5.0L 305 2bbl beheamoth. This car survived without major issue to the tune of over 200,000kms and was sold.
Back to my fox which swallows parts and labour at an alarming rate. So called "German Engineering" is a bogus claim. This car cost me a job, a girlfriend and a students (me) hard-earned money. Before you go import, either keep this in mind, or pm me I will set you straight.
Back to the neon. I have complete service records on it, a positive testdrive (in which I drove it pritty hard down country roads). Im just one day away from signing the papers. This car, basic mods (cold air, exhaust, rims in time) will be kept stock as an A to B transport for myself.
What are your thoughts? Feel free to post your experiances with your neons if it will help me and if not will help someone else
