Hey everyone! My name is Mark and I'm from Flowery Branch, Georgia. Just purchased a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Regular Cab LWB truck for my business and personal use.
Just bought it two weeks ago this past Friday and this past Friday it decides it wants to have transmission problems. Couldn't get it to go over 35 mph at all. The pump support bushing wore out and the drum went bad according to the transmission guy today. There's a lot of metal in the pan and so forth.
I love this truck! It looks great, it drives great (up until last Friday).
Had no idea that these trucks were such lemons though.
Gonna have to have the transmission replaced probably.
The dealer I bought it from says I purchased it AS IS and it drove fine when I left with it after buying it so he won't help with it at all.
Guess that was too much to ask.
Truck should last more than two weeks you would think.
There's only 80K miles on it. That's probably from it being in the shop most of its life, ya think?
Anyway, glad to know theres a forum out here with people who are experienced in what I'm dealing with now.
This is my very first truck I've ever owned. I'm 39. Sold my Black 2001 Monte Carlo SS so I could buy this.
