Newbie From MI - Need More Tow Power
my camper is 6250 GVWR and I'm sure about 7500 when loaded down with water and accessories. I just went camping and also had the truck full of wood.
The truck did pretty good but certainly didn't like any type of hill at all and topped out at about 65. Luckily this year I'll only tow 2 - 3 times and will all be local.
The truck is a 99 with the 5.9L, auto, 4 x 4, 3.55 gears. I definately want more power and will probably do like air intake, headers and exhaust over the winter.
I'll do some searches for other people who have done similar mods, hopefully i'll see some decent results and prices.
If anyone has suggestions I am certainly open to them.
